Giuseppe Torcasio Italian forces an NCO/candidate officer in uniform with the heavy artillery regiment insignia on his peaked visor cap,World War II North Africa.

This memorial was created in honor of Giuseppe Torcasio of Melbourne, Australia Giuseppe Torcasio was in the Italian heavy artillery battery with 2 x Obice da 149/19 model 37 Heavy Howitzer's,A World War II veteran who saw action in Tobruk and the battles for El Alamein North Africa. Participated in Operation Compass was known by the Italians as the "Battle of the Marmarica" .

Giuseppe was born on October 21, 1919 in Italy and passed on October 18, 2012,Melbourne Australia three days short of his 93rd birthday Giuseppe was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all friends and family.
